Pork Tonkatsu
Quick and easy recipe with authentic flavours. Served with rice to give you a filling meal.Ingredients
01.
Add some oil in to a medium sized hot pan. Fry the garlic, ginger for 30 seconds then add the Ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, honey, 2.5 tbsp rice vinegar and 150ml water, mix everything together. Bubble the sauce down on a high heat until a nice thick pouring consistency.
02.
In a bowl mix together the cabbages, 2 tablespoons of rice wine vinegar, a tablespoon of olive oil, salt and pepper, leave to the side as your slaw.
03.
Get your rice on, follow pack instructions.
04.
Get three bowls out. Add flour to one, break 2 eggs and some seasoning to the next and your breadcrumbs & paprika to the third. Season your pork. Dip you pork in the flour, then the eggs, and then the breadcrumbs, making sure it is properly coated.
05.
Get another pan on the heat. Add enough vegetable oil so it covers the bottom. Once hot, add your pork steak. Once the bottom side is golden brown flip them, normally after 3-4 minutes. Then keep flipping until the breadcrumbs are a deep golden brown, and the pork is cooked through (10-12 minutes).
06.
Take the pork out of the pan and allow to rest on a board for 2-3 minutes. Then slice it up. Serve your pork on a plate, with your steaming rice on one side, and a big wodge of slaw on the other. Pour your sauce over the pork and the rice and tuck in!
